Graduate Student
Workshop on
"Spectroscopy
and Dynamics of Molecular Coils and Aggregates"
September
11-13
This workshop precedes the
conference and follows the tradition established in previous years. Graduate
students present their own recent research work to their peers, either in the
form of short talks or during a poster session. The workshop posters may be
presented again to a wider audience at the follow-up conference. The informal
atmosphere and the student-organized format of the workshop contribute to an
uninhibited, free exchange of ideas and results among the graduate students.
The student presentations are complemented by three tutorial-style lectures in
the fields of spectroscopy, simulation and scattering. Some financial support
is available for guest students who register early.
Registration for participation in
the workshop and for scientific contributions is possible under
http://www.pcgg.de/workshop_detail.php?id=87.
Note that participants who are interested in FIAP accommodation during the workshop
must also register at the conference site
http://www.lptl.jussieu.fr/users/jcle/2009_fiap/registration.html,
by including the relevant dates in the conference registration form.
The workshop starts with an
informal get-together at registration on Friday afternoon (Sept. 11), followed
by a free evening in Paris. On Saturday, there will be an intense scientific
program, including student talks, methodical lectures, and an extended poster
session. The program continues on Sunday morning, leaving the afternoon free
for Paris excursions before the conference starts on Monday.
The workshop is sponsored by the Göttingen research training group on
Spectroscopy and Dynamics of Molecular Coils and Aggregates,
which in turn is funded by the
German Research Foundation (DFG).
